Job Duties:

Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, trucks and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Drive trucks and vans to haul crops, supplies, and farm equipment tools. Irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps. Assist in onion, chile, alfalfa, and sudan harvest and planting, driving a truck or tractor. Fixing leaks at farm fields, working on irrigation system, hoeing weeds pre/during/after harvest for onions, chile & picking chile during season, cutting onion tops, servicing equipment, driving tractor. Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to haul tools, supplies, or crops. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a driver’s license. Must report to farm owner and/or farm supervisor.
