Job Duties:

Regular horsemanship duties during the Thoroughbred horse breeding/foaling season including grooming, leading the horses into and out of different facilities and pastures, holding while being attended to by a veterinarian or blacksmith. Assist in breeding preparations and in the breeding shed. Assist with returning mares, foal birthing, and with foal care through weaning. Prepare foals for sales. Clean stables. Pressure wash buildings. Maintain & repair damaged fencing, and general farm/grounds maintenance as needed.

Special Requirements:

Mon-Sat, Average 8 hrs/day, 48 hrs/wk, over a 6-day period. Schedule is rotating in the respect that each worker has 1 day off per week, varying from worker to worker, with Sundays being optional. 1.5 hr lunch, schedule varies. 3 months experience required working with horses.
