- Job Duties:
- Crops: Boxwood, Grass, Grass-like plants, Plants, Shrubs, Christmas trees, Citrus, Flowers, Nursery/greenhouse crops Nursery worker : 1. Planting and Propagation • Prepare seeds, cuttings, or seedlings for germination. • Place seeds or young plants in trays, pots, or soil. • Use propagation techniques (by seed, grafting, cuttings, or division). 2. Irrigation and Maintenance • Water plants according to their specific needs. • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides as needed. • Clean, weed, and maintain growing areas. 3. Monitoring Plant Growth and Health • Monitor for the appearance of pests or diseases. • Prune, transplant, or remove diseased plants. • Sort and select the best quality plants. 4. Nursery Preparation and Organization • Prepare substrates, pots, trays, and tools. • Organize work and storage areas. • Keep the nursery clean and tidy. 5. Sales or Distribution Support and Assistance • Label plants with names and prices. • Prepare orders for customers or transport. • Assist with loading and unloading plants. 6. Recordkeeping and Control • Record the number of plants planted, germinated, and sold. • Maintain inventories of materials and products.

- Special Requirements:
- 2 months experience planting fruit and ornamental trees, cultivating palms, and in management and care of ornamental plants. Workers are not permitted to be under the influence of intoxicants of any kind during working hours. Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid upon-suspicion and/or post-accident drug testing. Any employee who declines to take or fails a drug test will be immediately terminated.
