Job Duties:

Workers will perform assigned duties as directed by their supervisor. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on the employer’s needs. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Under the direction of a company supervisor, workers will perform manual labor in field maintenance, greenhouse work, nursery operations, and crop harvesting and maintenance. Duties may include but are not limited to pulling weeds, removing stones and roots, removing reflective tarps from crop rows, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and removing strings and wires from trellises. Workers may also perform tasks related to the care of young, non-producing fruit trees, including weeding, trunk painting, and hand clipping. All work will be performed under the supervision of a company supervisor. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors. Unusual, complex, or non-routine activities will be closely supervised. The employer retains the sole discretion to assign work and make reassignments based on weather, crop conditions, or other unforeseen interruptions to normal operations. Workers must perform all duties assigned by the foreman or crew boss. Without specific authorization from the foreman or crew boss, workers may not perform duties not listed in this job order, work in unassigned areas, or leave the work area or farm premises. Leaving a job assignment area or farm without authorization will be considered a voluntary resignation. Prior to beginning work, workers will be required to attend an orientation on workplace rules, policies, and safety procedures. Workers must be able to perform repetitive movements, engage in extensive walking, and work on their feet in bent, stooped, or crouched positions for prolonged periods of time. The job requires the ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds regularly throughout the workday. Work will be performed outdoors and in greenhouses under variable weather conditions. Temperatures may range from below freezing to 105°F. Workers may be required to work when trees or crops are wet from dew or rain and should wear appropriate clothing for variable weather conditions. Work may continue during light rain that does not prevent field operations. Saturday work is required. Individuals with allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect sprays, or related agricultural chemicals may be affected by these exposures. Workers must be physically capable of performing all job duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The job involves long hours of physical labor under sometimes adverse weather conditions.

Special Requirements:

The employer may conduct a drug test post-hire at the employers expense upon reasonable suspicion after a worker has been involved in an accident while working. Workers must have two (2) months in tasks associated with farm experience. Applicants must be able to furnish job references establishing acceptable prior experience or a notarized statement describing the specific prior experience.
