Job Duties:
Assist with all aspects of on-site crop production for use in cattle feed, including planting, fertilizing, irrigating, and harvesting crops. Duties include dispersing seed and fertilizer, as well as maintaining irrigation ditches by controlling irrigation lines and diversions, keeping water flowing properly, and ensuring ditches are clean and free of debris or trash. Responsible for watering and irrigating fields, including setting tarps and using hand tools such as shovels and pitchforks to secure them in place and direct water as needed. Assist with ranch land maintenance using various equipment such as tractors, mowers, weed eaters, and chain saws. Perform general upkeep at irrigators' housing, shop, and barn locations, including the removal of manure and weeds around areas such as the headquarters, corrals, horse barn, entry gates, and office. Operate mowers and trimmers for lawn and yard maintenance and assist with weed eradication efforts through spraying and manual removal. Responsibilities also include chopping weeds from fields where cattle feed is grown and maintaining farm machinery in good working condition by performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing oil and oil filters.
