Job Duties:
Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, tractors that utilize GPS and autosteer systems, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, track-hoes, and ATVs/side by sides. Duties include participating in irrigation activities such as laying pipe, walking the length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to maintain adequate water supply to crops. Additional irrigation and water management duties include building, constructing, and maintaining levees; installing and removing levee gates; putting in spillways; and working in ditches. Workers will assist in receiving crop for storage at grain storage facilities; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; and shoveling grain. During cotton harvest season, duties include operating cotton pickers to harvest cotton from the field. Workers may be required to assist with moving cotton bales and transporting harvested cotton to storage or gin yards. Workers will clean, inspect, and service cotton pickers and related equipment to ensure efficient operation. Routine maintenance, including greasing, adjusting belts and spindles, and clearing debris, will be required throughout harvest. Manual duties include loading seed into planters; hand harvesting and planting when needed; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; changing combine cutting heads; using hand tools in fields; removing rocks from fields; performing light welding for equipment repair; and performing maintenance, repairs, and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, gates, and all farm equipment. Workers are responsible for ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained, using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean, and service farm vehicles, machinery, and specialized agricultural equipment. Regular equipment servicing, mowing, and general landscaping on the farm will also be required. There are few typical days, and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general farm functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors at the sole discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements:
Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers.
