Job Duties:

All job duties are closely and directly related to the production of livestock. Perform any combination of the following tasks to attend to livestock during the winter season: administer emergency minor medical care to sick/injured pregnant animals and calves. Move calves and cows depending on weather; sort, wean, and vaccinate calves; assist with supplemental feeding (when weather or quality of forage precludes use of pasture forage); break ice over frozen water sources; intensely monitor weather and treat both cows and calves vulnerable to the fence and facilities to ensure the safety and health of animals and forage; watch for behavioral changes due to bad weather. Drive and operate farm machinery necessary for cattle operation.
