Job Duties:

Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to work ground; prepare and maintain land; and cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, forage harvesters, mowers, forage boxes, tanker trucks, and wheel loaders. Non-CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Job will also require changing chopper cutting heads; monitoring pivots and adjusting pivots as necessary; welding; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, barns and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; pulling covers over silage piles; putting tires over silage covers to prevent silage piles from coming uncovered; and spreading manure on fields. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements:

Basic English literacy skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive sitting or walking. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers.
