Job Duties:

Workers will perform assign duties as instructed by their supervisor. Planting of vegetables: A tractor will go over the fields making holes for the plants, workers will grab a tray of plants from the truck, walking down the rows the worker will put one plants per hole, when finish with the tray, the worker will walk back to the truck and grab another tray of plants, repeating the process through the work day. Harvesting vegetables: Once at the picking location, doing a row at a time, workers will move down the rows plucking the vegetables from the plants and putting them in a container. Once the container is full the worker will take the container to the truck and dump the content. The worker will go back to his picking area and fill his container up again, repeating the process through the work day. Watermelon Planting: Workers will grab a tray of watermelon plants; working down the rows worker will make a hole on the ground, insert the watermelon plant in the hole and cover the hole with dirt. Harvesting Blueberry by hand, the worker will walk down the blueberry field rows where the blueberry will be harvested. The worker will place a 1 gallon picking bucket with a strap over his shoulder from the field truck to the particular area of the field where the fruit will be harvested. The 1 gallon picking bucket is a canvas, equipped with a shoulder strap for support. Worker positions himself in front of the blueberry tree and will remove the fruit from the tree and place into the 1 gallon picking bucket taking care not to break any limbs, damage the tree, or knock off the fruit. When the 1 gallon picking bucket is full he will take it to the truck at the end of the row where he will unload his fruit into a small tub or container. Stevia plantation: Workers will carry full stevia plant trays in order to set stevia by hand and by machine. When done by hand the worker will walk down the field make a 3 inch hole in the ground, place the plant in the hole, cover the hole firmly, and space each hole about 12 inches apart repeatedly throughout the daily shift. When setting stevia by machine the worker must drop one plant in each cone repeatedly every two seconds without missing a cone. Any cone missed will be then set out by hand. Workers will weed stevia fields getting them ready for machine harvesting. Cucumber Plantation: Workers will select large cucumber plant from the beds; they will cut the plant and place into a basket. Once the basket is full and tight the process will be done again. Workers will then plant cucumber by machine and by hand. When planting by machine the worker will repeatedly set a plant on the butterfly device that holds the plant. The plant end must stick out of the butterfly device at least 2-3 inches in order to be planted correctly. When done by hand the worker will walk down the field make a 3 inch hole in the ground, place the plant in the hole and cover the hole firmly. Cucumber Harvesting: The worker will pick the cucumber up from the ground, placing them in a five gallon bucket, once the bucket is full, the worker will take the bucket to the truck and dump the cucumber in the back of the truck.
