Job Duties:

Job duties include but are not limited to: Drive and operate farm machinery to till, plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops. Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil. Mix material, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Recording information about crops such as pesticide use, yields or costs. Inform farm managers of crop progress Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, wheat, hay. Manual labor, drain excess water from crops, assist with irrigation of crops. Assist with the inspection, grading, sorting, storage and post-harvest treatment of crops. Put crops in bins as well as remove grain. Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities. Install, maintain, repair and operate center pivot irrigation equipment. Drive and maintain crop sprayers General lubrication, service (check fluids) and perform incidental repairs to farm machinery. Maintain and clean agricultural buildings, yards, farm vehicles, implements and mechanical equipment. Attach farm implements such as hand tools. Assist with pest control (trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers and mice.) Maintain inventory Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer and drive to market or storage facilities. Complete routine repairs and maintenance on farm machines and equipment. Crops: Corn and soybeans
