- Job Duties:
- Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities; Operating large farm equipment and machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, moving, storing, harvesting grain, oilseed, and forage crops; Move chopped silage from field to storage locations; Use front end loaders to load manure onto manure trucks to deliver to fields; Operate manure spreaders to spread manure as fertilizer application over cropland; Set up and operate irrigation & manure equipment including drainage tile; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, manure, gypsum, lime, feed, seed, equipment, livestock and other cargo; Adjust, repair, wash, service farm machinery such as such as tractors, implements, trucks, trailers, elevators, augers, sweeps, fans, floors, & loadouts; Maintain and repair farm structures such as farmworker housing, barns, bins & storage facilities; Clean up and dispose of trash; Pick rocks, mow, trim weeds; Occasional delivery & pickup that requires workers to be on duty beyond the end of the normal work day is possible; however, employer will pay for all hours worked and provide any necessary meals while workers move to and from these locations; workers will always return to the employer provided housing listed on form ETA 790A; The job requires no more than 3 months of prior experience, the ability to obtain a normal driver’s license, and the ability to lift at least 75 lbs; The employer reserves the right to pay any worker that exceeds the minimum required criteria at a rate of pay above the AEWR; speak and understand English.
