Job Duties:

Duties include planting/caring for seedlings including watering, pruning, fertilizing, pest control. Unload, handle, and sort seedlings and liners when delivered. Cultivate fields/prepare for planting. Cultivate rows to prevent weed growth. Plant winter cover crops performed with tractor & cultivator. Cull unsalable material. Perform day to day watering as needed. Maintain machines, hand tools, and irrigation for daily use. Balling/burlapping mature trees with mechanical spade. Prepare trees for safe/proper loading and transport. Will be expected to use tractors, farm implements, skid steers, and front loaders. Will be expected to use pruners, sprayers and other hand tools. Exp. with farm equip., heavy equip., hand tools, and plants useful. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience with our company. Must be able to lift 65 lbs., and be able to sit, stand, crouch, and squat repeatedly for long periods of time. Hours may vary based on weather and crop conditions. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license; no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a driver’s license.

Special Requirements:

Worker must have experience in nursery operations, pruning, digging trees, and trying tree balls. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Drug testing required post hire, at employer expense to both domestic and H-2A workers for safety of workers and clients. Employer agrees to provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
