Job Duties:
Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Use handtools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments, as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery, such as pumps and compressors. Clean and lubricate parts. Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary. Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, livestock, or other materials. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles. Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs.Related occupations. Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools. Mix pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides for application to trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops. Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas. Start motors and engage machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. Connect hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities. Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools. Provide driving instructions to truck drivers to ensure complete coverage of designated areas, using hand and horn signals.Farming with: Corn, Soy Beans

Special Requirements:
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles.
