Job Duties:

We operate an irrigated corn, soybean, wheat and hay operation. All activities from fertilizing to harvest to irrigation happen during the growing season. We need seasonal employees to assist with all aspects of growing and irrigating these crops. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, manure spreaders, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Install and repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems, maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems, reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary, repair bent or torn sheet metal, repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, install machine or equipment replacement parts, lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning, maintain repair or maintenance records. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
