- Job Duties:
- Greenhouse Grower for annual flowers and vegetables– Duties may include but are not limited to: preparing soil and growth media, planting, transplanting, cultivating, pruning, cutting, deadheading, culling, pinching, pollinating, harvesting, trimming to shape, mowing, fertilizing with granular or liquid fertilizer, cleaning work area, transporting plant materials in the greenhouse or nursery area, loading and unloading plants and all other duties associated with plant production and /or otherwise participating in horticulture activities. Specific seasonal duties include: Late Winter & Spring: Easter Bulb growing (lilies, hyacinths, tulips, daffodils, geraniums and various other spring annuals). Duties may include but are not limited to: plant, watering, fertilizing, insect scouting, weeding, load/transport for sales. Garden vegetables - Duties may include but are not limited to: planting seeds, transplanting to flats, watering, fertilizing, insect scouting, load/transport for sales. Summer: Perennial crops (trees/shrubs/flowers) - Duties may include but are not limited to: plant, watering, fertilizing, insect scouting, weeding, trimming, load/transport for sales. Maintain outside grounds including edging, mowing, planting and mulching. Summer/Fall Chrysanthemums and various other fall annuals - Duties may include but are not limited to: plant, watering, fertilizing, insect scouting, weeding, load/transport for sales. Late Summer/Winter Poinsettia - Duties may include but are not limited to: plant, watering, fertilizing, insect scouting, weeding, Load/transport for sales.
