Job Duties:

At Pfeifer Family Farms; we are looking for individuals to effectively help us plant to harvest our crops and everything else that comes with it!Must be mechanically inclined & be able to trouble shoot & fix issues. Must be time efficient when completing tasks. Must have a strong moral compass & be here to work. A few of the major tasks at our farm are:* To Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. * Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. * Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. * Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. * Maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. * Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. * Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks.* Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. * Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. * Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops.* Tow harvesting equipment. * Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. * Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and farm-equipment.Farming with: Corn, Soy Beans, Spring Wheat, Sunflower

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English.
