Job Duties:

Shipping: Operate equipment to load seed potatoes onto lines to ship on trucks, set up potato conveyor and piler line, sanitize equipment, guide trucks to potato line, monitor flow of potatoes, remove debris from potato line. Empty debris in tare truck, clean and sanitize line and trucks. Sweep and shovel up debris and tare dirt to keep work area tidy. Preparing seed potatoes for planting. Operate equipment to load seed potatoes onto cutting line, remove tare and cull potatoes, monitor seed cutter, hand trim cut seed, support staff applying seed treatment, setup, and fill large plastic totes for storing seed potatoes, move totes around with forklift, move equipment between storages, collect potato samples off of the line, empty skid-steer into debris truck and weigh at scale, empty debris truck, ensure all potatoes are removed from equipment and trucks between lots, clean and sanitize line and trucks, position culverts for ventilation system for bulk lots Load and weigh seed potatoes on trucks going to field. Planting: Move equipment between fields, clean and sanitize planting equipment and trucks, drive trucks to/from fields, clean and sanitize all equipment between seed lots, operate tractors for tilling and planting, perform planter performance evaluations, support staff loading planters, operate skid steer and piler to load potatoes on planter. Operate tractors to cultivate potato fields. Operate equipment to move fertilizer between fields as necessary. Deliver and set up fertilizer pumps as needed. Other duties: Sweep, wash, and disinfect totes and bins at the warehouse. Wash and straighten damaged culverts. Repair damage to warehouse, Scale house, Office and Shop as needed. Clean and maintain housing units, shop and office. Maintain the facilities neat, trim trees encroaching on fields and fence repair. Mow facilities grounds and fields. Rogue potato fields. Provide basic maintenance to farm equipment. Provide maintenance to irrigation systems including re-nozzle center pivots. Hours worked dependent on weather.

The employer will conduct pre-hire drug screen and may also conduct drug testing for cause after hire. The employer's intent is to pre-hire drug screen all employees in safety sensitive jobs. This is the protocol and employment policy with the Employer for both Domestic and Foreign workers and is conducted at the expense of the employer. Foreign workers will be tested during the recruitment process in their home country and Domestic workers will be notified of the procedure for their drug testing. Drug testing may also be conducted post-employment and at the expense of the employer as state in accordance the Departmental regulations at 20 CFR sec.655.122(b). This is not a drug test requirement, but a statement outlining that the employer may conduct post-employment drug testing at the expense of the employer. Whole Seed Farm LLC requires workers to have a driver's license when operating farm equipment vehicles. Safety training for use of farm equipment and tractors will be provided.
