Job Duties:

Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust and spray crops. Workers will be required to operate equipment which includes tractors with numerous types of implements attached such as sprayers, loaders, combines, semi-trucks and swathers. Some equipment utilizes GPS, auto-guidance systems and precision application. Assist with irrigation - irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps. Assist with maintenance and service of irrigation equipment. Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural productions, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Drive farm truck to haul crops, tools, and supplies. Keep record of information on provided forms regarding fuel, use and mileage. Harvesting of crops. Crops: Soybeans, silage and corn
