Job Duties:

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties, all closely and directly related to the production of livestock on the range, found in SOC Code 45-2093 Farmworkers, Farm, Ranch, and Aquacultural Animals such as and not limited to: Work with cattle at starting yard; Care for cows, heifers, calves, orphan calves, yearlings; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain; Assist in birth deliveries; Wean calves; Provide colostrum to orphan calves within 24 hours of birth; Feed, water, vaccinate, castrate, provide hay, assist calves with nursing; Milk cows to obtain colostrum; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Segregate and sort animals; Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures; Perform tasks such as rebuild pumps, replace shanks, grease, change oil, service filters, etc.; Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps; Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos; Drive trucks, tractors, loaders, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals; Cover and uncover feed piles; Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions; Shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food; Perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate timeframes, performing artificial inseminations.

Special Requirements:

One (1) month of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
