Job Duties:

Crops/Commodities: Perform manual labor to harvest Vidalia onions and plant/harvest/pack Watermelons. Count and check planted crops. Inform supervisors of crop progress. Perform field preparation, pull weeds, clean and maintain field and work areas. Workers may use hand tools and as a minor activity workers may operate farm vehicles and equipment, including tractors and tractor-trailers. Workers are also responsible for farm and field sanitation including picking up trash and cleaning bathrooms and other farm sanitation duties. Transport drinking water to field workers. Assist with Good Agricultural Practices policies. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Approximate staggered entry: 9 workers to begin March 16 and 46 workers to begin April 1.
