- Job Duties:
- Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers’ fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis). Load and unload
agricultural products into and out of trucks, and drive trucks for market delivery and/or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operator’s license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess an operator’s license. May drive and operate farm trucks and tractors. Manually seed, plant, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, & harvest by hand and machine agricultural commodity including but not limited to Vegetables, Herbs, Lettuce, Carrots, onions, Corn, Leeks, Cabbage, Spinach, onions, cilantro, herb, forage crops, vegetables, and other produce. Duties include yard clean-up and maintenance, field preparation by tilling soil, applying fertilizers, applying spray, mulching, applying & removing plastic, field drainage, stripping & drying, transplanting, weeding, thinning and pruning in the fields and/or greenhouses. Use hand tools including but not limited to clippers, hammer, shovels, and knives. Repair, maintain, clean, sanitize farm vehicles, tractors and implements and equipment, and buildings used in processing produce. Construct trellises, repair fences & farm buildings. Construct and repair pallets, boxes and storage containers. Sort, dump, grade, clean, pack, load and unload produce. Lift, move, and place pallets. Work requires standing, sitting, kneeling and lifting up to 75lbs. on a consistent basis
