Job Duties:

Worker will be required to perform a broad range of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: maintain clean, sanitary farm areas by cleaning stalls, pens, and equipment with disinfectants, brushes, shovels, hoses, or pumps; applying insecticides when appropriate; handling manure by scraping, piling, and loading; support overall farm operations by covering/uncovering silage/feed piles; mixing and distributing, additives, and medications in prescribed portions; operate and service farm vehicles and equipment (trucks, tractors, loaders, and related implements) and use common hand, air, and electric tools for routine repairs and upkeep; maintain farm grounds and landscaping using equipment such as a tractor, bush hog, weed eater, and mower, and clean and maintain farm facilities and equipment systems, including washing parlor walls/floors/pit, bulk tank, feeders, pails, sinks, and pipelines, as well as maintaining and repairing tractors, corrals, water systems, feed troughs, and trucks; keeping records; receiving and moving cattle at the yard; providing day to day care for cows, heifers, calves, and yearlings; observing animals for injury, illness, and growth/weight gain; assisting with calving and weaning; ensuring orphan calves receive colostrum immediately after birth; feeding, watering, nursing assistance, vaccinating, medicating, castrating, and providing hay as needed; hand or machine milking; breaking ice in water troughs; sorting and segregating animals; and herding livestock to enclosures; identifying animals with brands, tags, paint, or tattoos; shifting between grazing areas to maintain access to forage; performing reproduction related tasks such as timely breeding, including artificial insemination.
