Job Duties:
General farm labor on a large dairy farm including planting, cultivating and harvesting crops for livestock feed such as com, silage, heat and hay. Operate trucks on rural roads and in farm fields in approximately 15 mile radius from the dairy hauling manure and sliage to/from the dairy. Workers will till the soil, transplant, weed, thin and prune crops. Workers will use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools and scales to weigh containers and record weights and identifying information. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: semi-trucks, dirt moving equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, manure spreading equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, straight frame trucks, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations. Workers must be able to communicate verbally and in written form to inform farm managers of safety issues, plants or crops progress. Clean-up work areas. Must speak, understand and write English. Applicants must have a clean driving record and demonstrate on arrival that they can drive various types of manual transmission semi trucks with trailers. Workers will not be required to cross state lines, maintain DOT hours of service records, navigate interstate toll stations, etc. Increased hours with good weather. Must be able to lift and carry 75lbs for 75yds.
