- Job Duties:
- The worker will support general farm and ranch operations on a mixed grain and cow-calf operation in east-central North Dakota. Duties during the spring calving season will include monitoring approximately 900 cows, including 200 bred heifers, assisting with calving, identifying and caring for sick or injured animals, ensuring newborns are nursing, and maintaining clean and safe calving areas. The worker must handle cattle calmly and maturely to ensure animal safety and welfare. In the summer months, responsibilities will shift to haying operations, including raking, baling, and stacking hay, as well as rolling fields and rotating livestock through pastures. In the fall, the worker will assist with grain harvest operations, including transporting harvested crops, operating and maintaining equipment, and moving livestock to crop residue areas for grazing. Additional tasks may include fencing, feeding, watering, cleaning livestock pens, and assisting with routine animal health tasks. The worker will also help with general farm maintenance, machinery care, and other seasonal labor as needed. This position requires flexibility due to weather and seasonal demands. Work will be scheduled for six days per week, averaging eight hours per day and approximately 54 hours per week. Workers must follow safety protocols and supervisor instructions at all times. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
