- Job Duties:
- Manage honey production and maintain colonies of honeybees. Ensure sufficient food reserves, construct hives, and replace combs. Collect and package hive products: honey, beeswax, and pollen. Control pests. Making hive increases, manage queen bees. Manage lawn areas in and around bee yards. Make hive reports daily. Support bee smokers and extract honey. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties often and engage in various general functions. Work schedules may vary, and employees may be assigned to rotating shifts, including evening or weekend work as needed. Duties may change during the workday depending on weather conditions or other needs. Workers will perform a variety of general labor tasks as assigned, consistent with the job description and within the certified hours.

- Special Requirements:
- 2 months of apiary experience required. Must be able to use impact driver, drill, air tools, skill saw, hammer, various hand tools, bee smoker, bee snit, tractor, and front-end loader. Due to the use of vehicles and heavy machinery, drug testing may be conducted post-hire at the employers expense and is not part of the interview process. All workers may be subject to mandatory testing if they have been involved in a reportable accident or upon reasonable suspicion that drug use is impacting job performance.
