Job Duties:

We need seasonal workers to assist with our corn, wheat, and sorghum crop production season on a large farm in Southeast Colorado that primarily operates dryland acres, with limited irrigation wells and pivot systems, and produces certified seed wheat sold directly to other farmers. This is a seasonal position because no field preparation or crop work is performed during the winter months, and seasonal help is needed throughout the growing season for planting, spraying, harvesting, and tillage activities. Job duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, harvesters, and seed drills to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; engaging in planting, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, and harvesting activities; applying fertilizer and pesticide solutions using hand sprayers to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases; observing and listening to machinery operation to detect malfunctions; loading and unloading crops; operating equipment to harvest crops; recording required agricultural data; and driving pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
