Job Duties:

Workers will perform a range of agricultural duties related to the cultivation and harvest of sugar beets, dry edible beans (pinto), wheat, and soybeans. Primary responsibilities include operating and maintaining farm equipment such as tractors, harvesters, and other mechanized machinery necessary for fieldwork. Tasks involve soil preparation, planting, cultivation, irrigation, application of pesticides and fertilizers, crop maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest field activities. Workers must follow all safety protocols and employer instructions while operating equipment and performing manual fieldwork. Additional responsibilities may include transporting harvested crops to storage locations or markets, cleaning and conducting basic maintenance of equipment, and assisting with general farm upkeep. Work is outdoors and varies depending on weather and seasonal demands. Workers are expected to be available for an average of eight hours per day, five days per week, totaling approximately forty hours weekly during the employment period. The job is physically demanding and requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently during peak seasonal periods. The employment period begins in early spring and continues through late fall, matching the farm’s most labor-intensive production cycle. Despite recruitment efforts, sufficient qualified local labor is unavailable to meet these seasonal needs.

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain.
