- FARM EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: operate farm machinery such as forklifts, skid-steer, tractors, mowers, harvesters, sprayers and trucks for the purpose of soil preparation, fertilization, harvesting and hauling crops including fruits and vegetables; prepare soil for crop planting using tillage equipment such as strip till, vertical till, in-line rippers, and chisel plows to remove unwanted weeds; if authorized, spray fields/crops with fertilizer or crop protection solutions; help prepare farm equipment for field work and harvesting; perform routine general repairs and maintenance of farm equipment, including check equipment fluids, grease farm equipment, inspect equipment and inform supervisor of any necessary repairs, and help check battery life, air filters, tire pressure, and other parts of farm equipment; drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 20 miles; drive tractor to and from fields while pulling different attachments; operate or assist with trailer loading and unloading; operate harvester for crop harvest; operate a tractor or truck pulling a wagon/trailer to haul harvested crop from the field to the farm; assist with additional duties related to crop harvest; maintenance duties including mowing grass, picking up garbage around the farm, and cleaning farm machinery and buildings; complete daily safety inspections and general maintenance on tractors, vehicles, farm equipment and farm buildings; communicate supervisor instructions to other workers and assist with ensuring compliance to harvest or packing specifications; perform quality control activities when needed on harvested or packed produce; worker will perform job duties in a typical fresh produce pack house environment that is subject to the noise of packing line equipment, forklift traffic and airflow from fans; worker will be required to input harvested or packed inventory into computer system, print and apply product/case/pallet labels; worker will be required to record on paper logs or computerized logs completion of cleaning and/or facility/field inspection tasks if assigned by supervisor or food safety personnel. Assist with additional job duties related to and including crop planting, pruning, thinning, care, & harvesting. Workers will operate a forklift. Forklift driver will dump or set bins on conveyor and move palletized product to cooler, loading area or onto semi-truck. Forklift driver will also need to replace palletized product with empty pallets. Worker will load and unload semi-truck trailers or field wagons as directed to ensure safety and compliance.
