- Job Duties:
- We start our season in April and prepare for the upcoming crop season for wheat and corn. We also raise pheasants for our hunting season. Starting in April we rear pheasants and provide birds for our hunting operation. The hunting season is from August – December. After our season ends, we catch the birds and prepare for next year’s laying stock. During February and March snow in our area close our operation during the winter month. No crops grow during the winter months. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps, collect, inspect, and place eggs in incubators, operate machines for egg washing, candling, and grading, and pack eggs in cartons, drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals, feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies, inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences, move equipment, poultry, or livestock from one location to another, manually or using trucks or carts, care for animals, clean equipment or facilities, maintain forestry, hunting, or agricultural equipment, and operate farming equipment. Must be honest, a good co-worker and team player. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Returning workers will get $1.50/hr increase over the minimum rate.
