- Job Duties:
- We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn and bean crop production season. Employees will perform all assigned duties related to growing these crops, including preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, seed drills, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; planting, cultivating, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, irrigating, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizer and pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases; irrigating soil using portable pipes or ditch systems and maintaining ditches, pipes, pumps, and pivot irrigation systems; loading and unloading crops and materials manually or with conveyors, forklifts, augers, suction gates, hand trucks, shovels, or pitchforks; loading hoppers and guiding products on conveyors while removing damaged or diseased products; adjusting, activating, and monitoring equipment controls to ensure proper operation and detect malfunctions; hauling crops, supplies, livestock, and materials using trucks and tractor-trailer combinations exceeding three tons; planning and adjusting delivery routes; inspecting, loading, securing, coupling, and uncoupling trailers and cargo; performing vehicle inspections, basic maintenance, and emergency roadside repairs; following safety procedures for transporting special or regulated cargo; recording required agricultural and operational data; and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, vehicles, irrigation systems, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. Additional duties include inspecting, diagnosing, disassembling, fabricating, repairing, testing, lubricating, and reassembling mechanical and electrical equipment and components using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment; transporting tools and machinery to and from repair sites; and maintaining accurate repair, maintenance, and production records. 60% of the job will be Ag Equipment Operation (45-2091), 10% truck driving (53-3032) and 30% equipment and grounds maintenance (49-3041). The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
