- Job Duties:
- Workers will operate and maintain a variety of agricultural equipment used in grain production, including tractors, combines, planters, cultivators, augers, and grain carts. Duties include conducting routine inspections and maintenance of machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. Workers will assist in field preparation, such as disking, fertilizing, and spraying, followed by planting, irrigating, cultivating, and harvesting grain crops. Tasks also involve transporting harvested crops to storage facilities or market using trucks or grain trailers, monitoring moisture levels, and performing quality checks. Workers may be required to calibrate equipment, make minor repairs, and maintain clean work areas. When not operating equipment, workers will assist with general farm labor including loading and unloading supplies, repairing fences, cleaning grain bins, and other related tasks necessary to support grain production. Workers must be able to lift 50 pounds, follow safety protocols, and work outdoors in variable weather conditions. Experience with GPS-guided equipment is preferred. The job requires long hours during peak seasons, including evenings and weekends. Workers must be able to perform physically demanding tasks efficiently and with attention to detail. All work is related to seasonal grain farming operations and varies depending on weather and crop conditions. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
