Job Duties:

Workers will perform duties related to the planting, harvesting, and field maintenance tasks including weeding, staking, and tying, and field clean up tasks of all vegetable crops (sweet corn, peppers, specialty peppers, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, kale, cauliflower, lettuce, rhubarb, peas, and cabbage) as instructed by their supervisor. Perform duties related to the washing and packing of vegetables harvested on the farm. Perform duties including planting, maintaining, packing and shipping of greenhouse products,operating both hand and electric jacks and forklifts. Duties will include loading and unloading of trucks, stacking and palletizing of produce items, assembling orders, icing and cooling of produce, repacking of produce as needed, production, care and handling of potted plant material, and general clean-up and maintenance. Duties may vary from time to time. This work requires harvesting produce while making important decisions based on product size, shape, color, coloring and ripeness according to prescribed standards. workers may be required to use tools such as knives and shears. Workers will also participate in the cleaning and packing of harvested produce, and cleaning of packing lines, packing house, and any equipment or tools used for harvesting, packing, storage, or handling of vegetables & floral deliveries. plant, maintain, harvest, pack, ship, and load greenhouse floral or vegetable products in a greenhouse environment. All work requires adherence to important food safety and quality standards, operating procedures and the ability to work quickly and consistently alongside fellow workers with a positive, professional, team based attitude. This work can require standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 60 pounds above the head for long periods of time outdoors in all weather, including adverse weather conditions. For food safety and general personal safety practices, all workers will be required and expected to follow common sanitary practices at all times. Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (weather on or off the farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a drivers license.
