- Plant and maintain diversified vegetable crops outdoors: till soil, apply fertilizers and pesticides, operate and maintain farm machinery. harvest crops, wash, cull, prepare crops for distribution. Load and unload trucks. Maintain fields by cutting brush to keep them open and doing weeding. Operate hand and power tools: shovels, hoes, pruning equipment, irrigation pumps, and chainsaws
