Job Duties:

Crops: Apples Throughout the contract, workers may manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Workers may attach farm implements to tractors, such as sprayers, mowers, disc harrows, tillers, cultivators, platforms, harvest assist equipment, etc. using bolts and hand tools. Before any worker is required to operate equipment, they will be instructed in the proper/safe operation. Workers will be required to operate assigned equipment according to instructions and in a manner which protects the operator, other workers, trees/fruit, and equipment. At least 2 months experience driving tractors with attached machinery is required. Duties will also include applying crop protection materials in orchards, while driving a tractor with attached sprayer. Workers must adhere to any safety regulations- including wearing required protective gear, handling materials appropriately, following label instructions, electing appropriate materials, accurately measuring/mixing materials. Workers must also be able to maintain a detailed record of work performed using provided forms/checklists and technology. Employer assures workers hired under this contract will be provided with any required training. Workers must pass a respirator fit test and attend and pass a Restricted Use of Pesticide class. Tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided. During the harvest portion of the contract, workers will be required to operate equipment to move empty and full bins throughout the orchards. Other duties during the contract period may include but are not limited to, weeding, picking up rocks, constructing trellises, transplanting, use of hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, and tampers to perform field work, clear debris from work sites and properties, clean equipment and tools, pick up brush, pruning trees, thinning fruit, planting trees while driving a tractor, orchard maintenance, mowing, tilling soil. Activities outlined in the job description will be conducted solely on worksites owned/operated by the employer.

Special Requirements:

Workers must report to work at designated time and place each day dressed appropriately. Ability to work outdoors for duration of the day in varying weather conditions with exposure to heat/humidity, rain, dew, dust, wind, frost/snow, temperatures ranging below 30 degrees F and above 90 degrees F, prolonged periods of sitting required, ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Allergies to plants, pollen, insects, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workers must be able to perform the required work with or without reasonable accommodations. Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required.
