Job Duties:
All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box A.3 & A.4. Workers are needed to plant, trellis, maintain, harvest, and package blueberry, aronia, raspberry, elderberry, blackberry, wine grapes, and other annual and perennial plants as needed for the farm’s production operations. Workers will use hand and power tools such as but not limited to shovels, hoes, pruners, irrigation pumps, chainsaws, and generators. Workers must have the knowledge of soil tillage and the ability to apply fertilizers and operate and/or perform basic repairs and maintenance to machinery used in farm operations. Workers will perform other activities related to production of crops. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather ranging from extremely cold in the spring and fall to hot, humid summer days. Workers will work in post-harvest processing and support value-added production, which may include washing and bagging fruit, preparing fruit for processing and processing fruit, putting labels and dates on packaging, packaging finished products and washing items used in processing. Workers may operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place for farm operations during the workday (including on public roads); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Work is physically demanding requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time. Workers must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers must be available to work Monday through Saturday. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Workers may be required to work 7.5-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm from Monday to Friday. Exact work schedule will depend on the weather and crop conditions. Workers get a 30-minute Lunch break which is staggered between 11am to 1pm as decided by the workers; and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Beginning and ending times may vary depending upon weather and crop conditions. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English. 1 worker starts on 3/20/2026 and ends on 11/15/2026. 3 workers start on 4/30/2026 and end on 11/15/2026.
