- Job Duties:
- We are a sod farm. Typical duties involve operating forklift, tractor and mower or tillage equipment, manually handling sprigs during planting, and cleaning equipment. Employees will also help truck drivers secure and tarp their loads in the field. They will perform tasks related to cleaning and maintaining the office, shop and related farm property grounds. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; load and unload materials and commodities; maintain grounds and landscaping; maintain inventory; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; regulate conditions; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: GPS guidance systems, forklift, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, self-propelled machinery, skid steers, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: sod.
