- Job Duties:
- • Record the numbers and types of harvested product.
• Monitor workers to ensure that safety and food safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety and food safety regulations.
• Observe employees for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior, notifying managers.
• Observe product for food safety and quality.
• Train workers in cutting, packing of product and use of equipment.
• Communicate with managers on plans and procedures.
• Schedule work crews, equipment, or transportation work locations.
• Drive or operate harvest machinery, such as trucks, tractors, or self-propelled harvesters.
• Read shipper orders to determine required activities.
• Inspect harvest fields to ensure safety and food safety regulations are being met.
• Confer with managers to determine production requirements, conditions of equipment and supplies, and work schedules.
• Monitor operations to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations.
• Plan work schedules according to shippers orders.
The 2 supervisors will not be working with crops, rather they will be monitoring workers who will be harvesting iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, broccoli, green leaf lettuce, butter lettuce, red leaf, mixed leaf, romaine hearts, and petite romaine.
