Job Duties:
Workers will operate agricultural equipment to support the seasonal production of corn and wheat. Duties include preparing fields using tractors and tillage implements, planting crops with precision planters, applying fertilizers and crop protection products, monitoring crop health, and harvesting mature crops using combines and grain carts. Workers must conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on farm machinery and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Additional responsibilities include hauling grain to storage or market using farm trucks, maintaining field records, and assisting with irrigation setup and repair when needed. Workers will follow schedules based on weather conditions and crop needs and must work safely around large machinery and in changing environmental conditions. The position requires adherence to operational instructions from farm supervisors and timely reporting of any mechanical issues or crop concerns. Workers may also be required to perform general farm labor such as cleaning equipment, repairing fences, and supporting the farm’s logistical operations during peak planting and harvest periods. The work schedule averages 10 hours per day, six days per week, and may fluctuate due to seasonal demands. All tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to the workers. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday. No experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level I Entry Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level I Entry Level, indicating that the job requires limited experience and routine supervision consistent with entry-level duties. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
