Job Duties:
Agricultural employee is required to work with many different types of farm machinery for loading, unloading and application of fertilizers. . Employee is required to maintain and make minor repairs of the equipment they operate. Mechanical skills and experience are required to use equipment necessary to perform the tasks above. Worker will be required to perform routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on farm equipment; welding experience is preferred. The worker is also required to attach farm implements and operate equipment such as forklifts, Bobcats, Skidsteers and tractors. To work as an ag equipment operator requires physical coordination, decision-making ability, mechanical aptitude and driving skills. The ability to listen to and follow verbal directions is imperative. The job entails working outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, cold, wind dust, rain and snow). Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Worker is required to have a current driver’s license. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges).Repetitive duties to be completed on a regular/daily basis include: a. Mechanics and upkeep of farm equipment b. Mechanics shop kept in working order c. Preparing and storing equipment used. d. Communicate with employer using business radio of cell phone e. Duties as assigned daily Drivers license required, 3 months experience is required. Long/odd hours with split shifts required during harvest and seeding. Increased wage and bonuses possible based on experience. Job duties may require split, evening and/ or night shifts spanning two calendar days due to cropping demands. Extended hours may be required during peak production periods. Work hours may vary and there may be short periods (2-3 day) when little or no work will be available due to weather.
