Job Duties:

Farm Laborer: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: moving and arranging greenhouse plants, flats, pots and baskets; watering plants, including irrigation and hose setup; nursery stock planting, transplanting, harvesting and maintenance; staking, tying of tomatoes and jalapenos; harvesting of tomatoes, pickles, sweet corn, pumpkins, gourds, zucchini, squash, jalapenos and dill; weeding, hoeing, fertilizing, seeding, pruning, clipping, positioning and training plants on trellises; pest control; moving buckets, bins and pallets; applying herbicides; preparing soil and clearing property; spreading compost; operating a tractor as directed on farm property only; wooden containers maintenance and repair; and general maintenance and clean up, including removing trash and debris. If worker is eligible to drive under Michigan law, worker may drive employer provided vehicle to and from worksites and to other locations as directed. Pay will be hourly. Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse Workers (45-2092)

Special Requirements:

3 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial agriculture required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor for greenhouse, nursery, tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, sweet corn, pumpkins, gourds, zucchini, squash, jalapeos, and dill. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties. Minimum Productivity/Performance Standards: Worker must possess requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat harvest process throughout workday. Worker must work at sustained pace and make good faith efforts to work efficiently as reasonable under working conditions. Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker to be available for work for entire employment period.
