Job Duties:

Workers will operate and maintain a variety of agricultural equipment used in the planting, cultivation, spraying, harvesting, and transport of crops. Equipment includes but is not limited to tractors, planters, sprayers, combines, grain carts, and semi-trucks with trailers. Duties include setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance in accordance with farm protocols. Workers will assist with general field preparation, including tillage, fertilization, and irrigation support, as well as crop monitoring and weed control. Harvest operations include running combines, unloading grain, and transporting crops from field to storage using grain trailers. Workers are also responsible for equipment upkeep, including regular service checks, oil changes, and minor repairs to ensure machinery is field-ready. Additional duties may include cleaning equipment, maintaining field records, and assisting with yard and shop maintenance. Applicants must be able to perform these tasks with limited instruction and oversight and adapt to changes in field conditions due to weather. During peak seasons, workers may be required to work long hours to ensure timely completion of planting and harvest operations. All work will be performed on a large-scale grain farming operation focused on corn, soybeans, dry edible beans, hard red spring wheat, alfalfa, and grass hay. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
