- Job Duties:
- Workers will operate and maintain a variety of agricultural equipment used in the planting, cultivation, spraying, harvesting, and transport of crops. Equipment includes but is not limited to tractors, planters, sprayers, combines, grain carts, and semi-trucks with trailers. Duties include setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance in accordance with farm protocols. Workers will assist with general field preparation, including tillage, fertilization, and irrigation support, as well as crop monitoring and weed control. Harvest operations include running combines, unloading grain, and transporting crops from field to storage using grain trailers. Workers are also responsible for equipment upkeep, including regular service checks, oil changes, and minor repairs to ensure machinery is field-ready. Additional duties may include cleaning equipment, maintaining field records, and assisting with yard and shop maintenance. Applicants must be able to perform these tasks with limited instruction and oversight and adapt to changes in field conditions due to weather. During peak seasons, workers may be required to work long hours to ensure timely completion of planting and harvest operations. All work will be performed on a large-scale grain farming operation focused on corn, soybeans, dry edible beans, hard red spring wheat, alfalfa, and grass hay. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
