Job Duties:

The Livestock Production position will be required to perform any combination of the following 1 tasks to attend to livestock and farming operation: monitor, care for and move livestock using 4-wheelers and side by sides to and from pastures for winter feeding while pastures are not producing feed; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist with calving and lambing; place mineral blocks; vaccinate livestock, herd into corral and/or stall and manually restraining animals; shearing of sheep, spray livestock with insecticide; assist with castration clip identifying notches or brands animals; manually clean stalls/corrals. Must be able to make minor equipment repairs and perform routine maintenance and cleaning of farm implements, and operate tractors and farm implements required to plant cultivate, hay and harvest hay and other crops; must manually hoist/stack hay bales; pick rocks, repair/replace fence in rough terrain. Assist with maintenance and moving of center pivot equipment’s. Must be able to find and maintain bearings to grazing areas. The job entails working around farm machinery, a variety of farm animals as well as exposure to predators and snakes. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain an other environmental conditions. Worker must be able to crouch, bend, lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Additional hours and split shifts needed during haying, calving season. Driving is required on ranch only but if they have a valid driver’s license may drive off the ranch.

Special Requirements:

Applicant must have 1 month experience with agricultural equipment. Applicants hired must have an active driver's license from their home State, Country or an International Driver license and be able to obtain a valid State of Montana driver's license, as driving on public roads may be required.
