Job Description

- Job Duties:
- Harvest and field pack strawberries. When picking strawberries workers will use a cart with a box that has 8 plastic baskets (1 lb clam shell) where the strawberries are packed at the time they are picked. When the 8 pound box is filled, the worker will walk to the edge where the inspector will revise the boxes, turn in the box, and return with a new box. Worker will also prepare the fields (making rows, cutting runners, placing plastic and hose). Removing grass and maintain fields. Workers will verify that packaged strawberries are in good condition, do not have any defects, and meets the quality control standards required by the buyer.

- We require two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience within the past two (2) years for the job duties listed. This position requires a minimum of two (2) months for the employee to get a full understanding of the job and responsibilities. Must be able to understand work & safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken and written in the workplace. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently. Workers must be physically fit to perform job duties without succumbing to excessive exhaustion. Workers will be provided safety training and will be expected to handle tools/equipment safely and carefully so as to avoid crop damage and to protect the worker from potential injury. No smoking, alcohol, weapons or controlled substances in the worksite or in the houses. Able to stoop, bend, and work in cold and wet conditions. Safety use and training provided by employer. Workers must abide by Employer housing rules.
