Job Duties:

The temporary position requires the Farm Worker to perform any combination of the following tasks required in the preparation of new farm for planting. The primary goal of Farm Worker is to plant starter nursery, general vegetables and other crops on 2.5 acre farm and to grow them to a large size for future use in our produce market. The process includes the following duties: Preparation: clean fields, preparing the farm soil conditions for planting vegetables (arugula, lettuce, tomatoes, squash, beets, green, herbs, turnips, peas). Planting: process of root pruning, planting the seeds and other crops. Field Care duties: Irrigating, fertilizing, weeding, pruning, remove dead plants, weed removal (unwanted vegetation from ground), staking, dividing, and cultivating. This task typically carried out using long-handled hoe. The employer will provide a long-handled hoe 63 inches. The Garden Hoe will be used to shape soil and remove weeds with ease. The handle measures 63 inches for ample reach. Harvesting: harvest vegetables and other crops requiring digging, balling and heavy lifting (50 lbs.); picking crops for market. Worker bends over and picks crops and vegetables with hands; packing vegetables and other produce crops in the field for fresh market; pick, and placing in-tray/packing containers in the field. Requires one (1) month experience in the job offered. One reference must be provided.

One (1) month experience in the job offered. One reference must be provided. Requires frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching and kneeling is required. Ability to lift, push, pull and carry weight up to 50 pounds required. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
