Job Duties:

All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. Workers should have 1 month experience in apple and vegetable duties. Job duties include driving and operating farm machinery to plant, cultivate, maintain and harvest produce. Workers will attach, adjust and maintain farm implements to tractors and drive tractors to the field to prepare the soil, plant, maintain, prune, harvest, process and pack crops. Workers will maintain and harvest crops using hand and handheld equipment, know when to irrigate crops using methods appropriate for the crop and location, set up irrigation, identify plants, pest and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Apply general use pesticides or any restricted use pesticides under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator. Workers may operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers should report to work with their own suitable work clothing. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions, including temperatures as low as 25 degrees with snow up to one foot deep, and as high as 90 degrees with damp mornings. The work requires long periods of standing, bending and kneeling, as well as climbing ladders for long periods of time while carrying a picking bucket which is harnessed over the workers shoulders. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and be available to work Monday through Saturday. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Workers may be required to work 8 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Friday. Employer will furnish all tools and equipment required at no cost to workers. Workers get a 30-minute Lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. The workers will return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The beginning and ending times will vary depending on the conditions on the orchard. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English. Five (5) workers starting on April 6th, 2026, and ending on December 1st, 2026. Two (2) workers starting on June 1st, 2026, and ending on December 1st, 2026.
