Job Duties:

The primary job is a Christmas tree farm operation along with a diverse small vegetable farm. I am also enlarging to include a hay operation and converting some fallow land to specialized hardwood wood lots. Most work on our farm is small tractor and implements along with mostly manual labor. We work bees during the summer months. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; construct facilities; construct structures to support plant growth; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; load and unload materials and commodities; maintain grounds and landscaping; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: beekeeping equipment, bailers and other hay equipment, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, sprayers, spreaders, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: bees, flowers, hay, nursery plants, trees, vegetables. Must not have honey, pollen, or bee related allergies.

Special Requirements:

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
