Job Duties:

The Livestock Assistant will assist with animal health care activities, including observing livestock for signs of illness or injury and reporting concerns to supervisory staff. Duties include assisting with treatments and vaccinations as directed, supporting and assisting with medical procedures under supervision, and helping maintain accurate herd health practices. The worker will assist with feeding livestock and supporting herd nutrition programs, including preparing and distributing feed as instructed. Additional duties include cleaning, maintaining, and sanitizing animal housing, facilities, and equipment to ensure proper animal health and biosecurity standards. The Livestock Assistant will also assist with client education and training related to basic livestock care and herd health programs as directed by supervisory staff. All work will be performed under direct supervision and does not involve herding livestock on the range.
