Job Duties:
Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer’s fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months verifiable experience. Workers will plant and cultivate vegetables, fruit, and field crops both manually and by operating tractors and tractor drawn machinery. Manually prune, plant & harvest the following crops: Apples, Berries, Watermelon, Corn, Tomatoes, Asparagus, Peppers, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Peas, Green Beans, Cabbage, Pumpkins & Squash. Greenhouse work; some plants are started by seed in a temperature controlled environment. Workers will work with seeding plants in trays, stacking trays, covering stacks and moving stacks to hot room for good germination. This includes preparing trays for seeding, moving the stacks after germination to greenhouses. When seedlings reach appropriate size workers will transplant seedlings to prepared beds according to supervisors instructions. Drive & operate farm machines to grow & harvest fruits and vegetables. Attach farm implements, such as plow, seed drill and manure spreader to tractors and drive tractors and operate implements in field to till soil and plant, cultivate and fertilize crops. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate, spray & haul harvest crops. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Thin and weed plants. Must be able to use hand tools: shovels to dig soil and remove rocks; trowels to plant seedlings; hoes to remove weeds without damage to plants and roots; tampers to plant seeds; shears to prune; and knives to harvest produce without cutting vines. Mix chemical solutions, such as pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers and spray crops. Must be able to lift and carry 75 Ibs consistently throughout the day. Must be able to bend and stoop and stand on feet for long periods of time to weed and harvest crops. After a completion of 2 days of training Employer will expect workers to pick a minimum of 100 bu with no more than 4% bruising.

After completion of 2 days of training, employer will expect worker to: pick a minimum of 100 bu of produce with no more than 4% bruising per day. The employer will not guarantee to pay the workers a bonus but reserves the right, at the employers sole discretion, to offer a bonus or to pay an hourly wage rate in excess of the highest applicable rate stated above based on individual factors including but not limited to longevity of employment or exceptional job performance. The employer reserves the right, at the employer's sole discretion, to temporarily raise the above listed piece rate due to crop conditions and/or change piece rate and the count per box due to unpredictable market requests. In the tasks where there is no prevailing practice to pay a piece rate, the employer, at his sole discretion, may opt to pay per hour to ensure a good quality product. The employer at his sole discretion can opt to pay a worker an hourly wage vs piece rate based on the worker's performance.
