Job Duties:
Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in planting, weeding, or harvesting activities. Walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals. Direct and monitor the work of seasonal help during planting and harvesting. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Harvest plants, and transplant or pot and label them. Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Sell and deliver plants and flowers to customers. Regulate greenhouse conditions, and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems. Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems. Maintain farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants, shrubs, and trees, using gardening tools. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Special Requirements:
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion.
