Job Duties:

Duties may include: Silage baling: Mowing using mower-conditioners; baling using large round balers (1000# bales); wrapping using individual baler wrappers or in-line wrappers, moving bales from field to storage using tractor mounted bale huggers. Work completed during April and May with some activity in June and September when temperatures and rainfall permit. 35% of total workload. Dry hay baling: Mowing using mower-conditioners; raking using wheel rakes; baling using large round balers (700# bales); moving bales from field to storage using hay spears or bale huggers on front of tractors. Work completed from June through September. 40% of total workload. Overseeding: Planting rye grass or winter wheat using grain drills or spreader buggies. Work completed in September. 10% of total workload. Bushhogging: Mowing pastures as needed for maintenance using 10' to 20' bushhogs. Work completed where needed to remove over mature forage between April and September. 15% of total workload. Worker will also be responsible for maintaining grounds and repairing fencing around fields & other related Agricultural Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work and possess/maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
